Our
Impact
I am very thankful to be the recipient of the Bob and Betty Jean Forgnone Scholarship. Their support has helped my family and I continue to afford my education at Loyola Marymount University. As a senior, this has helped me build long-lasting relationships, continue playing golf, and grow as an individual.I am beyond thankful for their generosity!
My thanks to the Kyle Testman Water Polo Scholarshipfor helping me become the seventh member of my family to graduate from LMU. Because of this support, I was able to succeed academically, represent LMU as an NCAA student-athlete in Men's Water Polo, and graduate with no debt.I'm proud to have earned this scholarship and will continue to honorably represent LMU.

Athletics Success
On the courts and fields, LMU established a history of championsfrom the first years on the Westchester bluff.
In the 1930s, the Lions won three consecutive ice hockey championships, and were competitive on the football field. The legendary Pete Newell played basketball in the 1940s for the Lions and the intense rivalry with Pepperdine began. National acclaim came to LMU in 1950 when multi-sport star Bob Boyd won the NCAA track championship in the 100-yard dash with a time of 9.8 seconds. The 1980s brought more individual national champions including Therese Kozlowki in cross country and more Olympians including Paul Sunderland who shared the men's volleyball gold medal in 1984. The 1980s also saw LMU's trip to the baseball College World Series in 1986 and two women's rowing Varsity Four National Titles in 1981 and 1989. The 1990s started with one of the most memorable moments in collegiate sports history: the men's basketball run to the NCAA Elite Eight in the 1989-90 season. The 1990s also saw success in the men's and women's water polo programs, winning a combined 17 titles in 12 years. The 21st century has brought four straight titles in men's water polo, and the women's water polo team were NCAA runners-up.
LMU Athletics can only build on this history with dedication and support from Lion supporters like you.
