The Lions Athletic Fund was created to help provide a transformational student-athlete experience; athletically, academically, and culturally for every LMU student-athlete by building a passionate community of supporters dedicated to the long-term health and success of LMU Athletics.
Your support allows LMU Athletics to meet the annual needs of our 14 intercollegiate teams and 300+ student-athletes through scholarships, enhanced facilities, and operational support. This support is critical to advance the LMU Athletics mission and our core pillars.

James Batley joined LMU Athletics as senior associate athletics director of development in 2021. He brings 10 years of experience in athletic fundraising and engagement. As senior associate AD of development, Batley is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive program to engage alumni, parents, friends, community members, business and civic leaders to achieve the philanthropic goals of the university.
He comes to LMU from San Diego State University where he was an assistant athletics director for major gifts. Prior to this, he was a successful fundraiser at the University of Oregon where he managed two regional booster clubs and assisted with projects including the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex, the Marcus Mariota Sports Performance Center, and Hayward Field. Batley, a former student-athlete, swam competitively at the University of Kentucky and competed internationally for the Great Britain junior team.
He earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Kentucky. In his free time, Batley enjoys connecting with friends on the golf course, surfing, and spending time with his daughters, Lily and Willow.

You can contribute any gift amount to a pooled endowment fund. To create a named endowed scholarship or fund, a gift of at least $100,000 is required.
Complimentary reserved parking is provided for Tip Off Club members in the Coach's Circle based on their leadership support ($25,000+).
